WARM HEART MINISTRIES

The Mission of Warm Heart Ministries is to serve the neediest of people in Malawi.

This is done through a variety of ways such as feeding programs, micro loans, farming supplies, home building, and orphanage support.

Warm Heart Projects

Feeding Programs

The Nutritional needs of Children are huge. This is especially true in Africa and when a Childs mother has died or is not producing enough milk warm heart is workign to fill the gaps. The mission of the feeding program is to break the cycle of food insecurity for generations to come.

Micro Loans & Community Banks

Micro Loans are a fast easy way to allow someone in need to get a leg up. many of the guardians in the feeding program have need for financial support. by offering a low interest Micro Loan they are easily able to start a small business. Typical business are cooking oil sales, doughnuts, charcoal, baskets, of a simple bicycle taxi service. often times these business can be started for as little as $10 and will create a lasting effect in the lives of the family. The community Banks are in place to keep accountability and provide ownership to the community of these business. Consisting of chairperson and 5-10 members the community bank acts as a source of support and accountability. they will also manage the collection of the small interest payments and disbursements of future loans. Each community bank is overseen by Warm Heart. we want to break the cycle of poverty for the next generation and providing a stable financial environment opportunities of schooling and technical training will hopefully follow.

Orphanage Support

The Unfortunate reality is that most families are so poor they are not able to continue to care for children if the mother has died. this is leaving the orphanages and children’s home overflowing and in need of great amounts of support.

Community Project

This is one Big Goal ahead. We have secured 5 acres of land and are building out a full community support project. This project will include Chicken Houses, Goat and Pig Pens, a general market, ECD (pre-school, which can be used as a clinic, church, community center, technical school for adults and much more. There will also be room for farming to take place supporting local community farmers. this project is going to be a huge long term investment to the surrounding villages providing jobs, schooling, food and support to the local people.

Farming Supplies

The single biggest industry ing Malawi is agriculture. With a plot of land some seed and fertilizer many families can provide for themselves financially and nutritionally for the full year. By providing seed and fertalizer to start a new farming season more success can be had. The goal is to eventually run it like a farming co-op with a portion of the annual yield being returned in payment that may be used to support others suffering from food insecurities and malnutrition.

Home Repairs / Builds

Having a safe healthy home can literally be the difference between life and death for the vulnerable population of Malawi. As Children enter the feeding program we are assessing their homes and living conditions and are finding that many of them are living in unsafe and unsanitary conditions. We are identifying these needs and are beginning to complete repairs or construct new homes if necessary to ensure the well being of these families in need.
